Howdy, I’m Julian, a copy editor of 10-plus years’ experience, an occasional writer and the host of The Story Kiosk Podcast. I began this project because I believe that writing offers the clearest way to clarify and share our experience of the world.
The initial inspiration for this podcast came from an anthology edited by the novelist Paul Auster called ‘True Tales of American Life’, a collection of real-life stories submitted by listeners to National Public Radio in the US. The Story Kiosk is my modest attempt at a spiritual successor to that project, which sadly ran for only a couple of years around the turn of the millennium.
